Conceptual Architecture & Planning by Brahma London

Based on a derelict and overgrown plot in a tight corner of a residential square in Tottenham, our client approached us to come up with an innovative way to develop a smart family home in this awkward space.

The result is this design concept which was developed in conjunction with the Local Authority to capture maximum light by placing the upside-down home in the back of this angular site.

Its unconventional landscaped private garden sits in front of the entrance to the building to the South with expansive glazing to capture daylight throughout the day.

The entrance level houses an open-plan living with sliding doors to the lounge area and corner glazing to the kitchen as well as frameless glass roof lights over the staircase to the basement.

The lower level contains 2 generous bedrooms and a sky-lit bathroom, with floor-to-ceiling South-facing glazing and access to a green-walled courtyard so there is no feeling of being underground.

A green roof with a solar panel array makes this proposal incredibly efficient and creates a modern family home with generous amenities in this otherwise uninhabitable London wasteland.
